What do you think about yourself? What do you feel about yourself?
You may need to do some soul searching in order to determine some blocks in your life. The blocks can be clear by different techniques like prayers-affirmation, meditation, visualization etc. You can't change your life in a positive way if you don't deal first with your mind.
Your emotions (what you feel about things) and your thoughts are very important. Emotions have a great impact on the subconscious mind: what you feel, is what you attract. If you have money issues in your life ask yourself: What do I feel about money? ... if you feel bad or guilty in deep inside of you when you have money (because you have been conditioned by your education to believe that money is evil), money will run away from you ... if you think that you don't deserve money, you think that money will corrupt you and your relationships, you won't create wealth.
The reason is because your subconscious mind tries to protect you. If you have stored bad things, bad feelings, bad thoughts about money, it will do everything to protect you from it. Your subconscious mind doesn't know if your beliefs are true or wrong, it accepts your beliefs.
Belief is a thought in your mind, and what you think you create.
If you have relationship issues, you can ask yourself the same type of questions. If you seem to attract the same kind of mate, you have to check your emotions and check if you don't have to deal with some unfinished business in the past like forgiveness. In your life, it looks like you follow a same pattern that repeats itself endlessly... something has to be reprogrammed in YOUR mind.
I took the examples of money (material), relationships (relationship with oneself and others), relationship with God (life, the higher than oneself, the almighty-one or whoever you call him ) ... because they are the most important things we have to think about to build your belief system.
It's important to have a strong belief system, because your belief is a thought in your mind and what you think you create.
